About the Sunshine Coast Sea Eagles

The Sunshine Coast Sea Eagles are a Rugby League Club based at Stockland Park,
Kawana Waters on the Sunshine Coast.

The Club plays in three tiers of senior competition: South East Queensland’s FOGS Competitions, the FOGS Colts (under 20s) and FOGS A Grade; and Queensland’s State Rugby League Competition, the Queensland Cup.

From 2010 the Sea Eagles, in conjunction with the Sunshine Coast Falcons, will also field regional junior teams in age groups ranging from U13 to U18.

The Club was established in November 2005 as the Sunshine Coast Falcons. In 2008 the senior portion of the Club went through a rebranding exercise after entering into a feeder arrangement with the NRL’s Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles.

In 2006 the Club was accepted into the FOGS Competitions, and 2009 marked acceptance into the Queensland Cup Competition. In a massive coup, the Sea Eagles won the 2009 QCup Premiership in their maiden QCup season, the first team ever to do so in the 100 year history of the Queensland Cup competition.

The Club was originally established to provide a pathway for the enormous talent of junior players from the Sunshine Coast to assist them to attain higher levels of competition and reach their own goals through the National Rugby League competition. Allowing these players to enjoy the lifestyle of the Sunshine Coast and be given the opportunity to compete at the higher levels is an important consideration for the younger players.

As the Club continues to grow it is also drawing talent from around Queensland and New South Wales as its reputation as a Professional Organisation and its provision of a positive environment for players continues to grow.
